Carlton McCoy is an interesting fellow. Born into meager beginnings in the DC area and rising to the echelon of Master Sommelier. One of three black Master Sommeliers in the world, in fact. That sort of background gives a traveler a unique perspective on the world. Carlton finds the beauty in both the "finer things and the diner things" in life. This was the central theme of the promo we helped craft for the introduction of Carlton and CNN’s Nomad. We used in-camera transitions to depict both sides of Carlton’s taste and how they beautifully clash. Dressed to the nines and enjoying grits in a soul food diner? Great! Admiring great art in the stalls of a Parisian Market? Amazing! Getting tattooed while drinking some vintage wine? Probably dangerous but OK!
