People's Choice Awards Brand Identity

The People Have Spoken

Branding

NBC came to Roger seeking a new, more elevated approach to the People’s Choice Awards identity. Starting with a logo, and extending out to in-show and promotional packaging for both on and off-air, we were determined not to let the people down.

Logo Design

Our logo exploration centered around various themes, inspired by voting, motifs related to the award itself, and references to the screen itself. In the end, simplicity won the day, with a crisp wide style set in Neue Plak, with an optional screen-inspired container shape.

Motion System

The motion language was inspired by the screen shape built into the logo design. We created a series of perspective shifts, nods to the experience of consuming media in an ever changing landscape.

Color Palette

The color palette was designed to evoke the bright neons of a vibrant city at night. Twilight blues fading into the reds and fuschias of brake lights and LEDs, the palette would feel right at home out on the streets of Los Angeles.

Moving Gradients

Using the vibrant palette, we created a set of moving gradients in both monochromatic, and full-spectrum colorways. These gradients were added to shapes and typography to create a constantly living and breathing package.
