HISTORY CON?!

Where can you find Ben Franklin, ancient aliens, vikings, antiques and Pawn Stars under one roof? History Con! Or as the in crowd calls it, HCON! Our friends at History wanted to promote HCON, which is one of their biggest events of 2020. This is to be the first convention in the U.S. where all of their biggest shows, stars and history buffs can meet and learn more about all things Historical and History Channel. We went for a concept that was  BIG, BOLD, MASSIVE, EPIC, GRAND and HUMONGOUS.

THE CAMPAIGN & HOW WE GOT BEN FRANKLIN TO BASE JUMP INTO PASADENA

The campaign was broken into 3 parts: a live action teaser, a CG launch spot as well as print. Here’s a glimpse of how our “Fall into the H” creative process went!

Here is a look at the previs animation that we created prior to our shoot. We sorted out what objects and people would be falling, as well as the timing of everything.

THE SPOT

IS THAT A BIRD? A PLANE? A GIANT GOLDEN H?

For the Launch spot, we imagined a giant H traveling to the Pasadena convention center. But how about if the H is packed with these awesome dioramas paying homage to famous historical moments as well as our favorite History programs.

Here is a look at the process we went through from concept to completion. We began with storyboards and concept art that was eventually brought into 3D.

For the print campaign we went in a more fantastical route in which we present a place where the space time continuum folds on itself- where Trojan horses, UFO, and knights collide! Sign us up!
