Bloom Visual Identity
Here Comes the Sun!
E& approached us to help launch a new preschool network from the ground up. As parents of preschoolers, we’re always excited to get on their level and create something fun and functional for the littlest viewers. Named “Bloom” we were immediately inspired by the opportunity for growth. Key programming strategies inspired an ever-changing design system tailor-made for dynamic day-to-day adventures.
Cut it Out!
Starting with the logo, we adopted a simplified cut-out style that would resonate with the kiddos, and provide the opportunity for kids to play and make in parallel with the brand.
While looking to avoid the low-hanging fruit of a plant or flower motif, we were reminded that the viewers are the ones we're hoping will grow and bloom. The network is offering content to nourish in a sense, giving the light for our little flowers to bloom. As an added benefit the sun icon also connects strongly with the audience in middle-eastern countries served as the core of the audience, and the idea quickly became a beloved icon.
Bloom’s content is specifically designed to match the flow of the day; starting gently in the morning, rising in energy and engagement mid-day, easing at nap time, and once again softening in the evening toward bed time. Inspired by this, we created a brand that reflected the importance of this design. That started with a dynamic logo system that changed with the day.
Rise & Shine
The logo rises and sets along with the flow of a preschooler’s day. Along with that, we created color palettes to match. The day begins with soft, warm colors, paired for lower contrast. Intensity and contrast rise for the mid-day packaging, and once again wind-down in the evening with cooler, lower-contrast compositions.
Signature Storytelling
The cut-out style, dynamic logo system, and changing palette come to life when paired with a world of playful illustrations. Simplified representational imagery and reductive abstract shapes combine to tell fantastical stories. The simplified style makes the imagery more approachable and inspires play and craft at home.
Meet Bloom!
Stories, of course, need a hero. To play the part within the Bloom brand, we created a custom illustrated and animated mascot to bring the whole thing to life.
Bloom is a fennec fox. A native to the middle east, he’s playful, curious, and a bit cheeky. He explores, plays, and sometimes snoozes, making a fun and relatable friend on screen.
Anything Goes!
Designing a mascot creates a lot of questions. Who are they? What are they? How old are they? How many legs do they have? Do they wear pants? How do you put pants on a quadriped? Why not a frog? And lastly, who needs a torso really?

Daydreaming...
In bumpers and idents, we follow the adventures of his day, once again matching the flow of our little ones’ itinerary. He explores nature, makes and learns, he even has an afternoon snooze.
